We will email you, confirming the outstanding invoice amount, and you will be able to click on the link, add your details, and payment can then be taken and paid to us. This is an easy, convenient method of taking payment, and I hope that our parents will appreciate our efforts to simplify the process for everyone.
We are looking for new staff to join our team. Driving Licence desirable. Our club has now relocated to St Joseph's Church hall, Bolton Road, Darwen. This is now a vibrant, energetic and exciting club. Children from many schools now play and learn with us, and we have a much larger, more qualified and experienced staff base and much more equipment, toys and resources to accommodate more children.
Our second club is at Ashleigh Primary School, for the children of Ashleigh Primary School.
Kidsland limited has received level 5 Food Hygiene rating from Environmental Health and has been awarded the Recipe 4 Health award. The Recipe 4 Health award is awarded to businesses that meet requirements for food hygiene and trading standards legislation, offer healthy options and are committed to being socially responsible. Kidsland Limited is the ONLY ‘Out of School' childcare provision within Blackburn with Darwen borough to have achieved this award.
The new reforms to the Early Years Foundation Stage, which came into force September 2014, means that Out Of School Clubs do not now have to meet the learning and development requirements, nor to provide a 1:8 staff:child ratio. However, it is our wish to continue to provide a quality childcare provision, and we will still have sufficient staff to meet the demands of a vibrant provision, and to continue to have enough staff to ensure the safety and welfare of the children, and to continue to monitor and observe the child at play, and to assess and record the child's development. Kidsland wishes to continue to encourage each child to fulfil their full potential.
Pants - NSPCC Safeguarding Campaign
Pants - Throughout the Summer & Autumn Term, and as part of our Safeguarding responsibilities, we will be holding activities and Children’s Meetings with the children about keeping themselves safe. The NSPCC has launched a campaign called PANTS, to raise awareness in children about safe touching, safe secrets, underwear (or underpants) etc. This will be done sensitively and will be age appropriate, and we will be following the NSPCC’s advice and guidance. If you wish for your child not to be included in these activities, or wish to discuss this with Lindsey first, she will be happy to show you the resources we will be using and to talk through any concerns you may have.
From 13th December 2014, all food businesses are required under the Consumers Regulation (No. 1169/2011) to provide information about the allergenic ingredients used in food provided by them. All Kidsland staff have Food Hygiene training and certificates, and Kidsland has received the Recipe 4 Health award, and has level 5 Food Hygiene Rating from the Food Standards Agency. Our 12 day menus are planned to provide nutritious and healthy food for the children at the end of the school day, and during holidays, when we provide: Breakfast, Dinner with Pudding & Tea, with drinks and fruit throughout the day. We will list all the possible allergens in each of our food selections, and this will be posted on the club door, together with all our craft & physical activity planning etc at the beginning of each week.
Sticky Hands Campaign
Week commencing 20th November is the Sticky Hands Campaign to 'Hold Hands and Stay Safe Near The Road' organised by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, and including all schools and childcare providers in the borough. We'll be completing Sticky Hands activities and games throughout the week, and we will be following through with additional activities during the rest of the year. There will be Sticky Hands posters on our notice board and in the club.

Online Safeguarding for Adults & Children
Here at Kidsland we have for many years had a Mobile Phone with Camera ban within our Safeguarding Policy, and all staff Smart Phones are kept in staff lockers during club sessions. The club phones DO NOT have cameras, and photographs are only taken with the club camera for use ONLY within the club.
We have also for many years been tackling both staff & children's safety and welfare whilst online. From March - July 2019 we will be promoting Online Safety within the club. All staff will have NSPCC Online Safeguarding training and certificates. We will be advising parents on ways to safeguard their children whilst using any technology and we will be delivering the message to the children in age appropriate meetings and activities.
